In a targeted operation on Sunday morning, law enforcement authorities dismantled a suspected human trafficking ring with the arrest of eight individuals from a hotel in Ashulia, Savar.
The raid, conducted at the “Hotel Unique,” led to the apprehension of the hotel’s manager, Maniruzzaman, along with seven other suspects employed at the establishment.
Those taken into custody have been identified as Rabbi Hasan (Gaibandha), Hridoy (Ashulia), Saidul Islam (Pirojpur), Shamsul Alam (Bagerhat), Sonia (Barishal), Shilpi Akhtar (Naogaon), and Arin Akhtar Shima (South Keraniganj).
The operation underscores ongoing efforts by police to combat organized crime networks involved in human trafficking operating under the guise of legitimate businesses.
